Frame colour is dark bronze. A pleasing colour no doubt, but evidence that the restorer was prepapred to deviate from the Steinway guidelines. The value is lessened by obvious unorthodox choices. The frame (or plate) screws have been chromed. A nice touch, but not in conformance with the Hamburg model. More importantly: the tuning pins have bushings. The Hamburg technicians are certain that part of the secret of their sound is in the lack of bushings around the pins.
