Plate bushings. A give-away. The restorer had no idea of the importance of NOT using plate bushings. Steinway never use bushings. Not because they might believe that the pin-block (also known as the wrest-plank) can take the strain. Rather it is because they believe that the string tension pulls on the pinblock more directly, and that the instrument resonates with greater internal tension this way. If the plate (frame) is bushed, the tension stops at the iron frame.
